Humanitarian Principles

ANURDO, as a non-governmental organization operating in Afghanistan, adheres to the fundamental humanitarian principles that guide our work in providing assistance and support to vulnerable populations. These principles are universally recognized and serve as a foundation for humanitarian action. The four key humanitarian principles are humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.

  1. Humanity: Humanity is at the core of our mission. ANURDO is committed to alleviating human suffering, protecting life, and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities affected by crises. We recognize the inherent dignity of every person, and our actions are driven by a sense of empathy and solidarity with those in need.

  2. Impartiality: ANURDO is dedicated to providing assistance without discrimination. We prioritize aid based on the needs of the most vulnerable, irrespective of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, or any other distinguishing factor. Our goal is to ensure that assistance is distributed solely on the basis of need, with the aim of reaching those who are most in need of support.

  3. Neutrality: ANURDO maintains a neutral stance in conflicts and crises. We do not take sides or engage in any activities that could be perceived as favoring one party over another. Neutrality allows us to access and provide assistance to all affected populations, including those in areas that may be challenging to reach due to conflict dynamics.

  4. Independence: Independence is a crucial principle that underlines ANURDO's autonomy and freedom to make decisions based on humanitarian needs. We operate independently from political, economic, or military influences, allowing us to prioritize the best interests of the affected populations and maintain the trust of both beneficiaries and donors.

In addition to these core principles, ANURDO is committed to promoting accountability and transparency in our operations. We work closely with communities, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure that our humanitarian activities are effective, responsive, and in line with the principles outlined above.

By upholding these humanitarian principles, ANURDO seeks to contribute to the well-being of communities in Afghanistan, fostering a more resilient and sustainable future for those affected by crises and conflicts.
